The Africa Development Council (ADC), a conglomerate of Industrialization Advocacy Organizations, is a non-profit organization whose initial activities started in Ghana, 2008, when an NGO, Science & Technology Advocacy Renaissance for Africa (STARFA), now one of the subsidiaries of the ADC, got incorporated in Ghana to promote application of Science & Technology via intensive advocacy.

The Organization, ADC got incorporated and certified in Ghana in 2023, when it assumed an international dimension to promote sustainable industrial development in Africa.

The ADC works with a variety of stakeholders, including African governments, businesses, civil society organizations, and international partners. ADC, is a trans-Africa Kingdom, aimed at restoring Africa to her former Glory of self-sufficient continent, in terms of Socioeconomic & Scientific Civilization on the Globe. The Africa Development Council has the following Subsidiaries:

  • The Science and Technology Advocacy Renaissance for Africa (STARFA): Scientific & Industrial Project Implementing Partner NGO, founded in 2008.

  • SAY Business Solutions & Engineering Consortium: For-profit Project Implementing Partner Company, founded in 2018.

Africa has come by far. The first continent to have witnessed global civilization, first in the history of human race.

The Spirit of Pan-Africanism, Africa Unity, and Scientific Renaissance, must be the Hallmark, if indeed, we want an accelerated Industrial Growth to catapult Africa to the level of her peers, among the global economic community.

A Brief Profile of the Leader of the Africa Development Council

Ing. Dr. Bright Jerry Atsu Yao Sogbey is a distinguished Nuclear & Materials Engineer with expertise in Energy/Construction Engineering Materials Design and Development, including Radiation Shielding Capability of Concretes and Metallurgical/Welding/Automobile Engineering.

Dr. Sogbey is dedicated to advancing STEM/TVET in Africa through research and advocacy in diverse fields such as materials and nuclear/renewable energy, engineering materials quality control, assurance and selection, construction materials standards, corrosion control, industrial production and manufacturing materials design, development, processing, testing and inspection, project appraisal and management, engineering economy, and a wide range of technical training and development.

He holds a PhD in Materials Engineering from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Ghana, and an MPhil in Nuclear Engineering from the University of Ghana.

His research led to the discovery of Radiation Shielding Composite Materials: Radiation Protection Cement (RPC), RPC Type I, & RPC Type II, for Nuclear Facility Containment Structures, such as Nuclear Power Plants, etc. His Discovery is patent pending.

Dr. Sogbey played a pivotal role in establishing the Ghana Welding Bureau with the support of the Petroleum Commission of Ghana and other stakeholders, facilitating Ghana’s involvement in International Institute of Welding (IIW) activities at national, regional, and international levels, and promoting the adoption of welding innovations and technology transfers in Ghana.

Dr. Sogbey is an Alumnus of International Science, Technology and Innovation Centre (ISTIC) for South-South Cooperation, member of Ghana Institution of Engineers (GhIE), Research Scientist Association (RSA) of Ghana Atomic Energy Commission, Ghana Nuclear Society (GNS), Materials Research Society of Ghana, Materials Research Society (MRS) of the United State of America and also American Society for Testing of Materials (ASTM) among others.

He has participated in various international capacity building and training workshops, seminars and conferences. He is Chairman of the Governing Council of TVET Africa.

Ing. Dr. Sogbey also chairs a Committee on Industry, Science and Technology of Volta Development Forum, Ghana. He was a member of National Committees: (Assessment and Petroleum Local Content Policy) on the establishment of Ghana Welding Bureau, under the auspices of the Petroleum Commission & Ghana Institution of Engineering.

Dr. Sogbey held series of Continental and Global Institutional Engagements, including Russia Telemedicine Agency, Diplomatic Missions, Research Institutions.

Ing. Dr. Sogbey was a Guest Lecturer, University of Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa.

In December 2012 (Khartoum, Sudan) Ing. Dr Sogbey was awarded UNESCO most outstanding International Business Project Proposal Award by International Science, Technology and Innovation Centre (ISTIC) for South-South Cooperation.

As a member of the Ghana Institution of Engineering, Dr. Sogbey was honored by the International Union of Materials Research at the World Materials Summit in Washington, USA, in 2011.

In 2011, Dr. Sogbey was among the Top Fifty Brightest Graduates Worldwide to be honoured by the International Union of Materials Research (IUMR), during the World Materials Summit, Washington DC USA. In October, 2007 he was also awarded the Mondialogo Engineering Award (International Research Team Award), Germany; DaimlerChrysler & UNESCO Initiative.

He has authored over twenty academic research publications.

Currently, he serves as a Research Engineer at the Ghana Atomic Energy Commission and is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Ghana.

Asst. Prof. Kwaku Addai

Asst. Prof. Dr Kwaku Addai is ADC’S Vice President, Global Diplomacy. He is a distinguished Management and Sustainability Expert with over 20 years experience in leadership positions. He has worked for major global corporations, including BSKYB & LBM (UK), Adresseavisen (Norway) and Ridgeway group (UK).

Asst. Prof. Addai has worked as Research Fellow for Advanced Research Institute, European University of Lefke (Turkish Republic of Cyprus) with many publications in management and sustainability.

He is a reviewer for several scientific peer reviewed journals, including (i) Journal of the Knowledge Economy (ii) Sustainability (MDPI) and (iii) Environment, Development and Sustainability.

He has served as the Lead Technical and Compliance Advisor for Motivus Innovations Private Ltd (India), leading the development of VRLA batteries regeneration and health monitoring projects across Africa.

In partnership with WOCE, he leads the team implementing ESGPro projects across West Africa for Innovations Private Ltd (India).

In Ghana Asst. Prof. Addai has served as Board Member for Newmont Ahafo Development Foundation for 9 years developing the funds and implementing several infrastructure projects across the region.

He is currently the Director of the School of Executive Education & Development (SEED), and a Senior Lecturer, NIBS University, Accra.

Asst. Prof. Dr. Addai has received several awards including, Norwegian Quota for international students (2001-2003); Stanlee Tee (UK) postgraduate awards (2003) and Northern Dairies (UK) Postgraduate awards (2004).

Executive Council Chairman - Dr. Prince Kofi Kludjeson

Dr. Prince Kofi Kludjeson is renowned Ghanaian business magnate, industrialist, and ICT expert serving as the Executive Chairman of Celltel Networks Ltd and a former President of the Association of Ghana Industries (AGI). A champion of indigenous entrepreneurship, he is known for pioneering cellular services in Ghana and promoting technology-driven economic growth and social innovation.

Key Achievements and Roles

Business Leadership: As Chairman of Celltel Networks Ltd, a subsidiary of Kludjeson International Ltd, he has spearheaded significant innovations in ICT, computer hardware, and internet services.                                       

Association of Ghana Industries (AGI): He served as President, where he championed policies for local businesses and sustainable economic growth.

International & ICT Focus: He is involved with the Africa ICT Alliance, the Nigeria Internet Governance Forum (LMAG), and is an accredited member of the ITU’s World Summit on Information Society Forum.

Partnerships: He has led initiatives partnering Cisco with the Ghana Communications Ministry for technological empowerment, specifically the “One Million Coders” initiative.

Mr. Kestser Kenn Klomegah

Kester Kenn Klomegah, Russia, appointed Country Director, Russia Mission of the Africa Development Council (ADC).

Mr. Kester Klomegah’s responsibilities are to oversee all aspects of
ADC’s operations within Russia, including managing staff, budget, programs, partnerships, representing the organization to local authorities and donors.

The ADC Russia Mission, is also responsible for Euro-Asia Region, and as such, his added responsibilities are to project the Africa Development Council to the Euro-Asia Region for win-win collaborations.

MD Africa Editor Kester Kenn Klomegah, is an independent researcher and writer on African affairs in the Euro-Asian region and former Soviet republics.

He wrote previously for African Press Agency, African Executive and Inter Press Service. Earlier, he had worked for The Moscow Times, a reputable English newspaper. Klomegah taught part-time at the Moscow Institute of Modern Journalism. He studied international journalism and mass communication, and later spent a year at the Moscow State Institute of International Relations. He co-authored a book “AIDS/HIV and Men: Taking Risk or Taking Responsibility” published by the London-based Panos Institute.

In 2004 and again in 2009, he won the Golden Word Prize for a series of analytical articles on Russia’s economic cooperation with African countries.

Meanwhile, the ADC led by its President, Ing. Dr. Bright Atsu Sogbey, had signed a Memorandum of Understanding with a Russian entity, Centre for Additional Professional Education (Alpha Dialogue), to promote Media – Academic Journalism, to ensure proper Academia- Industry Knowledge Flow, that can fuel the quest for rapid industrialization on the continent, Africa.

Ing. Rev. Hector Boye is Special ADC Envoy to the Americas, on Trade, Industry and Technology Transfer.

Ing. Hector Boye has almost 40 years of construction and project management experience.

During his professional career he has developed expertise in planning, engineering, design, procurement, construction, maintenance and operations of various built-environment infrastructure associated with transportation, institutional, commercial and residential housing, power generation, transmission and distribution, water supply and sanitation, sewerage and solid waste management among others.

Hector has both Employer and Contractor experience related to FIDIC contracts (Red, Blue, Orange, Yellow and Silver Books).

His project management prowess is indicated on page 485 of the fifth edition of the Project Management Institute’s Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK)®️ as a Content Contributor.

He is a certified Change Management practitioner and an instructor in Project Management as well as Monitoring & Evaluation for the International Law Institute, Washington DC.

His training and Project Management Office (PMO) coordination skills are excellent.

Hector’s strong analytical and critical thinking capabilities are demonstrated in his high emotional intelligence in leading teams, building positive relationships among diverse stakeholders, promptly adapting to changing realities and ensuring the quality, timeliness, and cost efficiency of all technical efforts associated with SandHurst-AEC, LLC, a management and consulting service to both private and federal clients in the USA.

Hector graduated from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Ghana with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (1987) and a Master of Science in Development Policy & Planning (2005).

Dr. Stephen Adom - Chairman, Africa Industrial Promotion Committee, ADC

Dr. Stephen Komla Adom

Dr. Stephen Adom; Chairman, Africa Industrial Promotion Committee, ADC. is a Ghanaian entrepreneur, founder, and CEO of Dominion Paints Manufacturing Industries Limited (DOPAMIL), the company behind the Agatex brand of paints and coatings.

Under his leadership, DOPAMIL has grown from a small-scale operation to a modern facility producing over 40,000 liters of paint daily, creating jobs, supporting local manufacturing, and reducing reliance on imports.

He had an award of Humanitarian & Entrepreneurship from the Word and Spirit Divinity College and Theological Seminary of West Africa, in August, 2023.

Dr. Adom was again in February, 2024 awarded with an Honorary Doctorate of Divinity by the American Bible University — in recognition of his contributions to business, leadership, and community development.

Mr. Felix Aponati - Head of ADC Global Network & Integrated Artificial Intelligence

Mr. Felix Aponati is a highly accomplished Senior IT Specialist with over fifteen years of experience delivering and leading advanced technology solutions across technical support, software development, system administration, ERP software customization, website development, and Artificial Intelligence. He combines deep hands-on technical expertise with strategic leadership, enabling organizations to design, implement, and sustain scalable, secure, and high-performing IT systems.

Throughout his career, Mr. Aponati has successfully overseen complex IT operations, led full-cycle software and web development initiatives, and driven the adoption of emerging technologies to improve efficiency, reliability, and business outcomes. Ing. Michael Agbelie - Deputy Chairman, ADC Founding Members' Congress & Special Advisor on Technology & Industry

Ing. Michael Agbelie is Deputy Chairman, ADC Founding Members’ Congress & Special Advisor on Technology & Industry.

Ing. Agbelie is a Welding and fabrication professional with over 30 years of experience in oil and mining industries. He is a Welding Engineer with the Ghana institution of Engineering.

Ing. Agbelie is a trained Welding Engineer from South Africa institution of Welding with Certification in coded welding of steel pipes. He is Certified in working at height safety training, Certified in Hot work and confined space work training safety. Certified in basic rigging safety Training.

Ing. Agbelie led a team of Inspectors to South Africa for inspection of a water pontoon that his company purchased from South Africa.

Ing. Agbelie contributed a lot to Ghana’s local content realization in the Oil and Gas enclave of Ghana.

Mr. Michael Sebastian Nunya Kuwornu

Michael Sebastian Nunya Kuwornu is an entrepreneur and cultural promoter from Dzelukope-Keta in the Volta Region of Ghana.

He is best known as the founder of EweZa, an initiative dedicated to celebrating and promoting Ewe culture, heritage, and the Ewe language.

Michael is the West Africa Marketing Manager for Tontrac Ghana Limited (Heavy Duty Machinery company, XCMG) and has experience as a sales and marketing professional, with several years of experience driving business initiatives in Ghana, Ivory Coast, Togo, Benin, Burkina Faso, Niger etc…

Mr. Ernest Apetsi

Executive Secretary & Head of Secretariat, Africa Development Council (ADC)

Ernest Apetsi is a development executive, agribusiness innovator, and institutional strategist serving as Executive Secretary & Head of Secretariat of the Africa Development Council (ADC). He provides executive coordination, governance support, and strategic oversight for the Council’s continental development initiatives.

With a background in Agricultural Science and Economics from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology and postgraduate training in Education, Ernest brings a multidisciplinary approach to industrial development, value chain systems, and organizational performance.

His experience spans public-sector collaboration, youth enterprise development, and agro-industrial innovation. He played a leadership role in Ghana’s 1District 1Factory (1D1F) ENABLE Youth Initiative and contributed to successful industrial project proposals under the Ministry of Trade and Industry.

Ernest is also the Lead Innovator behind Ghana’s 3-in-1 Solar–Electric Multifunctional Oven—an integrated food-processing solution combining drying, dehydration, smoking, and baking technologies. The system supports SMEs, farmer cooperatives, and women-led enterprises with clean, energy-efficient processing solutions.
Internationally engaged, he actively studies industrial park systems and decentralized economic models during professional travels. His engagement at the Benin Industrial Park Zone, including dialogue with Mayor Amade Moussa on local industrial governance, reflects his commitment to cross-border knowledge exchange and scalable African industrial growth.

Ernest is a recipient of multiple national and international recognitions. He was named Winner of the 2024 KIC AgriTech Challenge Classic, supported by the Mastercard Foundation, in recognition of his innovation and enterprise development impact. He has also received award recognition from the Embassy of Israel in Ghana and was adjudged Second Runner-up in the Israeli Green Innovation Competition, reflecting his commitment to sustainable technology and green industrial solutions.

He represents a new generation of African executive leadership—innovation-driven, globally informed, and committed to sustainable development outcomes.
